About Franklin Elementary School
At Franklin School, the students, staff and parents work together as a school community to enable each child to reach his or her full potential. We work to create a warm, safe environment that fosters the development of the whole child, socially, emotionally and cognitively. Furthermore, the staff of dedicated teachers utilize best practices to differentiate instruction for students, including a Balanced Literacy model for reading and writing instruction and a real world problem solving approach to mathematics. This year we also began a new science initiative in grades three and four that incorporates the Next Generation Science Standards.
Why Osmo?
Osmo came to our attention as an extremely motivational instructional tool that can be used across a variety of curricular areas to meet the individual needs of students. We implemented into one classroom with positive feedback! The rest is history. Osmo has brought engagement and excitement into our classrooms unlike any other center activity has before. It can be used in many grade levels and subject areas while still meeting a variety of learning styles! Our students use Osmo to practice math, writing, reading, vocabulary, coding, and problem solving skills with this program! We love how it saves students progress so they can continue to build on the skills at their own pace. Osmo has been a fantastic resources in our Franklin Elementary classrooms!
